Activity Ledger

The record behind every verification.

A verification is a moment where someone else's government ID passes through your hands. The Activity Ledger is how you can answer, later, who looked, what happened and when — without taking our word for it.

Why this belongs on a trust page

A control you can't inspect isn't really a control.

Most of what protects an applicant's data — encryption, network isolation, retention timers — happens somewhere you can't see it happen. The ledger is different: it's a record you can search yourself, of exactly who did what, enforced by the database rather than by a policy someone has to remember to follow.

What protects the record itself

Append-only, enforced by the database — never hash-chained, never a blockchain.

We say precisely what protects it, so your own review can check the claim against the behaviour.

The database refuses edits and deletes

A database trigger raises an error on any attempt to update or delete an entry. That includes us.

One narrow, logged exception

Deleting an account detaches its entries rather than erasing them, and only if every other column stays byte-for-byte identical.

Reading the deeper evidence is itself an event

Network and device detail behind an entry needs a written reason before anyone can read it, and that read is logged too.

The ledger outlives the ID images

Images are purged on a short timer; ledger entries have no purge job at all, so the record of a check persists long after the photo is gone.

What isn't there yet

Named, so you can hold us to it.

Coming soon
  • Per-view and per-download events for ID images specifically
  • A logged decision event for the accept/decline call your team makes
  • A self-service view for the applicant to see who accessed their own verification
  • CSV export for customers (JSON export exists today)
